I had the pleasure of traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona for the PPG MVP collision repair conference
I had never been to Phoenix or Scottsdale before and I have to say the entire trip was amazing and I had no idea the area was so beautiful. I am used to Austin, Texas being a beautiful place to live and was blown away with Scottsdale. Not only is the city nice, but pretty much everyone else in the city was really nice to interact with.
PPG refinish products
I would first of all like to say thank you to PPG for inviting me and the general manager of Heritage Body and Frame to attend the conference. They put on an outstanding event and made the entire trip a breeze. If you are in the collision repair industry and ever have a chance to go, take it!
What to do in Scottsdale?
Since I had never been to Scottsdale before, I had no idea what to do or what to expect. We had a nice direct flight in on Southwest, from Austin with no problems and took a taxi to the hotel for the first night. (We had committed to attending the conference late and the first night was already all booked up at the JW Camelback)
Having a few hours to spare, we started asking where to go and got promptly pointed to Old Town. A square of bars, clubs, and restaurants that were a pretty incredible place to see. I have been to 6th Street in Austin, The strip in Las Vegas and Cancun during spring break. This topped those all by a large margin and was some of the most interesting people watching ever. I have to say it was a little intimidating being there, but if you are going for a night on the town and want to see it all you have to go!
The highlight of the trip
PPG held the conference at the JW Marriott Camelback in Scottsdale, in the Sonoran desert. I should have gotten more pictures while I was there, the trip went by in a blur (Thanks, Oldtown nightlife lol). I could spend weeks just at this resort and not see everything it has to offer.
The resort had everything from a pitch and putt course up at the front of the property, very nice restaurants and bars, conference facility, pool/workout facility and a hiking area in the back that lead to mummy mountain. On top of all of this, there was wildlife all over the property (which I enjoy nature immensely, so that was really the best part for me).
